Skills say what you work on. An endorsement is worth something only when it comes from someone who watched you use that skill.

Manage your skills

1

Open the profile editor

Open your profile and select the edit action.
2

Go to Skills & Interests

Add skills from the Dapping taxonomy, or type your own name when nothing matches.
3

Prune the list

Remove stale or misleading entries instead of keeping a long generic list.
Skills you attach to an experience entry are added the same way, from inside that entry.

Endorse someone

Endorsements are given as part of writing a recommendation.
1

Start a recommendation

Open the builder’s profile and write the recommendation.
2

Add the skills you can vouch for

Under Skills you can vouch for, add the skills you have personally seen them apply. Pick from their listed skills or add a skill name yourself, up to the limit the form allows.
3

Submit

The endorsement is recorded against each skill and the builder is notified.
You cannot endorse your own skills, and you can endorse a given skill on a given profile only once. Endorsements are attached at the moment the recommendation is submitted; editing that recommendation later does not change them.

Where endorsements count

Endorsements are peer context. They feed the validation side of Karma and appear in the skill views companies use to evaluate builders. They do not replace verified experience or inspectable work. Choose skills you can discuss or demonstrate. Do not trade endorsements or add broad skills only to appear in more searches.
