Group conversations have owner, admin, and member roles. You can invite people directly or share an invite link with limits.

Create and invite

  1. Open Messages and create a group.
  2. Add a clear name and the initial participants.
  3. Invite people directly or create a link with an expiry and use limit.
  4. Share the link with the people you want to join.

Manage roles

The owner has final control. Admins can help manage settings and members. Members can participate without receiving management access. The owner can also set a Karma requirement for people joining through a link.

Leaving a group

An owner must transfer ownership before leaving. Remove or expire invite links that were shared too widely, and review membership after a public event or campaign ends.

If an invite does not work

The link may have expired, reached its use limit, been revoked, or require more Karma. Ask a group admin for a new invitation. Invite links can spread beyond the intended audience. Set an appropriate expiry or use limit, revoke a link that escapes, and review group membership. Owners control the group, admins help manage it, and members participate without ownership. Do not use a group as a substitute for confidential applicant or customer systems.
