# Launch or relaunch your project

> Put your project on a weekly launch board, see how launches are ranked, and relaunch with what is new.

A launch puts your project on one week's board, ranked by that week's upvotes. The top three with at least 3 upvotes earn a Project of the Week medal, which stays on your project.

## Before you launch

* **Who can launch:** the project's creator, a company owner or admin, or a team member with the owner or admin role. You need a verified email.
* **What the listing needs:** a logo, a short description, a website or demo link, and a category. The project must be public, and a seeded project must be claimed first.

## Schedule a launch

**1. Pick a week**

Use the **Launch** field on the project form, or **Launch** in the project page menu. When you
create a project, the week is required, defaults to this week, and is saved with the project.
Edit listing defaults to **Don't launch yet**.

**2. Join any day**

Weeks run Monday to Sunday (UTC). You can join the current week on any day until its last 24
hours, or schedule one of the next four. The current week goes live when you save. A live launch
can't be moved, only withdrawn, which starts the 12-week relaunch wait.

**3. Change it if plans move**

Before the week starts you can move or cancel the launch. While it is live you can withdraw it,
which starts the 12-week wait before a relaunch.

## How launches are ranked

* Every launch, first or relaunch, ranks only on upvotes from its own week. The count you see is the count that ranks.
* Ties go to the launch with more upvotes from [verified builders](/help/profiles/understand-verification-badges-and-karma), then to the one that reached its total first.
* Upvoting opens when the launch goes live. A new project takes no upvotes before then.
* When the week ends the order is final, and the top three with at least 3 upvotes earn a #1, #2, or #3 medal.

## Relaunch with what is new

Twelve weeks after a launch ends, or after you withdraw one, select **Relaunch** in the project page menu. Give it a name and tagline, describe what changed, and add a version if you ship one. What changed is also posted as a project update.

The relaunch gets its own page. Your project takes no new upvotes until it starts, then counts from 0. Your project page, reviews, medals, and all-time upvotes stay.

## What your team hears

Your team is notified when the launch goes live and when it is final.

## How Dapping launches differ from general launch sites

A Dapping launch is tied to the people who built it, and the result stays on record.

| On Dapping | Why it matters |
| - | - |
| The launch sits on a project page with its team, company hub, ecosystems, and reviews. | Readers can check who built it, not only what it is. |
| Makers link to proof pages with verifiable roles and connected work. | You can see who made it and check their record. |
| Ties break on upvotes from verified builders, and the count shown is the count that ranks. | You can see why a launch placed where it did. |
| Each launch is ranked within a fixed week and frozen when it ends. | A result is never reordered by votes that arrive later. |
| Each launch keeps its own page and medal; the project keeps its all-time record. | A relaunch adds to your history instead of resetting it. |
