# Start here: recruiters and hiring teams

> The ordered path to finding Web3 builders with verified experience, reading their proof correctly, and contacting them.

Recruiting on Dapping starts with the proof labels rather than the search filters, because the labels are the reason to search here rather than through a resume pile. Then source, set up the company side, and make contact.

## Understand the proof first

1. [Understand verification badges and Karma](/help/profiles/understand-verification-badges-and-karma). Different signals certify different things, and a badge on a profile is not the same claim as a badge on a company.
2. Read [why experience verification can reset, be rejected, or be revoked](/help/profiles/why-experience-verification-can-reset-be-rejected-or-be-revoked) so you know what an unverified or reset role actually means.
3. Read [trust signals and proof labels](/reference/trust-signals-and-proof-labels) as the reference for every label you will see.

## Find candidates

4. [Discover builders and understand open-to-work signals](/help/discovery/discover-builders-and-understand-open-to-work-signals). The public builders feed is free and needs no plan.
5. [Search, filter, and browse ecosystem hubs](/help/discovery/search-filter-and-browse-ecosystem-hubs) when you are sourcing by ecosystem rather than by skill.
6. [Use Talent Portal to find and contact builders](/help/companies/use-talent-portal-to-find-and-contact-builders) for the advanced filters. Talent Portal is part of a paid company plan, and you need to be an owner or admin acting as that company.

## Set up the company side

7. [Create or claim a company hub](/help/companies/create-or-claim-a-company-hub) and [verify the company](/help/companies/verify-a-company-and-understand-the-badge). Verifying is what lets you confirm the roles candidates claim at your company.
8. [Publish jobs, grants, bounties, hackathons, and accelerators](/help/publishing/publish-jobs-grants-bounties-hackathons-and-accelerators) from that hub so applicants can see who is hiring.

## Make contact

9. [Start a conversation and manage message requests](/help/account-safety/start-a-conversation-and-manage-message-requests). Some builders set a message filter, so a first message may arrive as a request they accept.
