# Start here: companies

> The ordered path from creating or claiming a company hub to publishing opportunities the right builders trust.

A company starts with the hub, not the first listing, because every listing inherits the credibility of the account behind it. Work through the four stages below in order.

## Establish the hub

1. Read [personal profiles and company hubs are different](/help/companies/personal-profiles-and-company-hubs-are-different) first. The two identities behave differently and the distinction affects everything below.
2. [Create or claim a company hub](/help/companies/create-or-claim-a-company-hub). If your company is already on Dapping because it was imported, claim it rather than creating a duplicate.
3. [Edit the company hub and manage public details](/help/companies/edit-a-company-hub-and-manage-public-details) so the description, links, and categories are accurate.
4. [Verify the company and understand the badge](/help/companies/verify-a-company-and-understand-the-badge). Verification is what lets the roles people claim at your company unlock a verified badge on their profile.

## Bring in the team

5. [Manage company roles, invitations, and ownership](/help/companies/manage-company-roles-invitations-and-ownership). A company has exactly one owner and any number of admins, so handing over the owner seat is a transfer.
